Use proximity carefully
Move closer when it clarifies the subject, then inspect perspective and edge distortion. A small change in distance can alter a face or object more than an editing adjustment does.
Wait for a relationship
Watch how a person, shadow, or reflection moves through the frame. Take a photograph when the elements form a useful relationship, not only when the subject is recognisable.
Select for a series
Choose a repeated approach to colour or framing across several images. A coherent series can communicate the photographer's attention more clearly than an isolated dramatic treatment.
