Watch a scene twice
On the first pass follow the action. On the second, note where cuts occur, which sounds continue across them, and how the camera positions the viewer. Separate your reaction from the devices that produce it.
Compare changing audiences
Consider how a film plays in a cinema, on a small screen, and in conversation with other viewers. Scale, sound, and shared laughter can alter the experience even when the film itself is unchanged.
Build a focused programme
Choose three films connected by a precise question, such as enclosed spaces or unreliable perspectives. Give each a short viewing note so the connection remains more useful than a broad genre label.
