Creating Webcomics

A webcomic needs readable sequences and a publishing format that suits its audience. Plan the page or scroll experience alongside drawing, lettering, and recurring characters.

Test the reading size

View lettering and fine details at the size readers will encounter. A large working canvas can hide unreadable captions. Check both a narrow phone view and a wider screen.

Choose a sequence format

Compare a traditional page with a vertical sequence. Panel grouping, pauses, and reveals change when the reader scrolls. Rework the rhythm rather than merely stacking an existing page.

Keep a production rhythm

Define a manageable episode length and keep model sheets for recurring elements. Consistency can support the reader while giving the drawing room to develop over time.
