Digital Photography: A Practice Workbook

Use a workbook approach to connect camera choices with visible results. Each session should answer one question and leave a comparison you can revisit.

Create a repeatable setup

Choose a fixed subject and stable light. Record position and settings for each frame. Repeatability helps distinguish what an adjustment changes from what happened because the scene moved.

Arrange a comparison

Place three versions side by side and describe the differences in focus, brightness, or framing. Name the version that best serves your purpose and explain why.

Choose the next exercise

Use the uncertainty in your comparison to plan another small test. A useful workbook accumulates decisions and questions rather than only technically successful images.
